Welcome to Inveraray
Inveraray is one of Scotland's most beautiful towns, set in a simply wonderful setting overlooking Loch Fyne's dramatic landscapes. The present town layout dates back to 1747, although it was build shortly after 1770.
The town is a Royal Burgh, home of The Duke Of Argyll and one of the most popular visitor destinations in the west coast of Scotland only an hour and thirty minutes from Glasgow by road, the alternative Oban is a further hour by road - both are stops on most of the coach tours in Argyll.
Inveraray Castle
Home to the Duke of Argyll, Inveraray Castle is also one of the town's main attractions. Rebuilt in 1744, Inveraray Castle took 40 years to build. It's a beautiful building set in stunning lawns with an expansive estate teaming with wildlife such as mature deer.
Inveraray Jail
Inveraray Jail is the other popular attraction in the town, featuring actors and actresses, it's a really interesting and authentic interactive experience for all the family, visitors are known to go back time and time again.
